Jay started as an entrepreneur selling skateboards out his parent’s house during his freshman year in high school. The experience propelled him to finance his Communication degree at UC Berkeley by working as a seller on eBay and as an intern in Sausalito for a veteran entrepreneur at New Canoe. After a decade of record industry experience, Jay became the GM of an independent record label, distributed by Fontana, a Universal Company. In his personal time he’s an endurance cyclist, backpacker, and enjoys playing guitar.
Joel has written 2 non-fiction books, started an internet newsletter for the casualty insurance market. He has 15 years of experience in network IT and project management along with being a web developer, and managed intranet infrastructure and security at Watson Wyatt Worldwide. He holds a BS in Geology from the College of Charleston. When Joel isn’t working he’s riding his bicycle on the road (and commuting to Hirenetics) riding his MTB on the trails, or playing his bass.
Dimitri is a practicing attorney in California with over 7 years of experience. After graduating from UC San Diego with a BA in Political Science, Dimitri attended McGeorge School of Law, in Sacramento, CA, obtaining his Juris Doctor. In 2009, he partnered with a close friend in forming his own successful law practice. In his spare time, Dimitri enjoys spending time with his wife and their two dogs.
Jennifer is currently faculty at University of San Diego in the Management Department after having spent seven years on faculty at the Wharton School. In July of 2014, Harvard Business Review published an article detailing her newest work, which identifies a revolutionary way of thinking about how people recognize creative ideas, and explains why managers often pick ideas that fail in the marketplace. Jennifer’s work has recently been showcased on NPR, CNN, WSJ, Fast Company, Fortune and Forbes, and she consults with many organizations to help them develop and endorse the kind of new ideas that customers want. Jennifer is also on the editorial board of the Journal of Applied Psychology as well as Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes. Jennifer received her Ph.D. in Social and Developmental Psychology from Brandeis University.
Angela has over 15 years of experience as a strategic Human Resources leader. Her focus is on partnership with key business Executives while fully leveraging her skills of organizational effectiveness, talent acquisition, talent development, and positive employee relations, with the ultimate goals of business success and achieving workplace of choice status. Angela holds an MBA from Pepperdine University, a BS in Business Administration from Sonoma State University, and has a Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) certification. In her personal time, Angela volunteers with West Coast Boxer Rescue.
Vivi has over 20 exciting years of experience in Human Resources and Recruiting. She has worked both inside and outside of organizations in a variety of industries with companies at all stages of development. Her focus is to create Human Resources and Recruiting services and products that match the mission, goals, values, direction, personality and culture of her clients. Vivi received her degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Human Resources from San Jose State University. In her spare time, Vivi loves spending time hiking and camping with her family.
Jeff is a seasoned executive with 10+ years experience across diverse business and marketing issues gained through various consulting engagements with Fortune 500 companies in industries, to include: e-Commerce, healthcare, hospitality, finance, and consumer packaged goods. Jeff is currently a Senior Engagement Manager at Prophet in San Francisco. Jeff holds an MBA from Wharton and a BS in Economics from USF.
Jack has spent 20 years in IT leadership focused on: business analyses, program management, human-factor diagnosis, business-process improvement, specializing in solution integration and business-process engineering. His MBA is in international business an MIS (Management Information Systems) in project management, and an AS (Associate of Science) in computer science. Jack also holds ITIL (Information Technology Information Library), PMP (Project Management Professional), and CSM (Certified Scrum master) certifications. In his down time, Jack enjoys spending time with his wife and son, playing golf, obsessing over fantasy football, and playing poker.
Scott is a proven senior finance executive with vision and expertise in building the financial infrastructure required to support technology and service organizations. While working at the Bank of New York, he participated in over twenty acquisitions, and eventually became the CFO of a small financial services subsidiary of the Bank. Since then, he has been the finance leader in numerous early stage companies, helping them grow from pre-revenue to profitability. Scott holds a BA in Accounting from Michigan State University and an MBA in Finance from Rutgers University. He is also a CPA. Scott is currently a Consulting CFO for early stage start-ups in the SF Bay Area.
